A Mountain Home woman, 63-year-old Linda Ryskey, was attacked by her dog Saturday and had to be taken to Baxter Regional Medical Center. A hospital spokesperson says she was treated and released the same day.According to a report from the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office, 911 emergency dispatch contacted the sheriff’s office advising an ambulance was responding to an undisclosed residence where Ryskey was attacked.
Ryskey’s husband says the couple took in a young, male black German Shepherd unable to be trained by the Dallas Police Department. The dog showed signs of aggression so they had him neutered. He kept tearing open his stitches requiring repeated visits to the vet. The vet stated the dog was hyper aggressive toward women.
The couple took the dog home in November of 2017. Since then, he would growl at the victim when she would try to feed him. Approximately two weeks ago, the dog bit the woman in the forearm to the point she had to have surgery on her tendons.
The day of the incident, the husband heard the dog attacking his wife. The shepherd took the woman to the ground, biting her on the ear, back of the head and neck.
The man then grabbed a firearm and put the dog down.
