BC Airport Commission fills 1 of 2 vacancies

The Baxter County Airport Commission meeting in regular session Tuesday learned it has two vacancies. Member Greg Mills has submitted his resignation, and the term of Nick Goodrich expired in March. The commission members voted to reappoint Goodrich for another term.

Steve Johnson of the local Experimental Aircraft Association chapter updated the commission on plans for a fly-in on May 5th. The commission voted to allow EAA to use the terminal building and grounds for the fly-in.

In other business, the commission voted to accept a bid from Industrial Mechanical Specialties to install roof vents on hangers at a cost of $4,353. The members also voted to give some used runway lights to Mountain Home Public Schools.

Dan Clinton of Grimes Engineering reported the taxiway light project will be bid in May.

The commission continued discussion of the Big Air hanger project. The project was approved in December to be constructed for Al Beers of Big Air.
