
(AP) – An Arkansas agency that supervises 60,000 parolees and
probationers is planning to move its headquarters from downtown Little Rock.The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reports that the Arkansas Department of
Community Correction announced Tuesday it’ll move to the shuttered Timex
distribution center in North Little Rock. The 250,000-square-foot
(23,226-square-meter) center closed last year.

The state Board of Corrections has given the agency approval to seek bonds to purchase the facility.
The move will consolidate more than 200 parole and probation employees into one building. The employees currently work at offices in Little Rock, North Little Rock and Pine Bluff. The Parole Board will also move into the building.
Community Correction Director Sheila Sharp says the agency hopes to relocate by August 2019.
