A Mountain Home man, 28-year-old Gregory Smith, has been arrested on felony drug charges after his vehicle drew the attention of a Mountain Home Police officer.
According to the probable cause affidavit, the lights of Smith’s vehicle were off as he drove to the rear of a Mountain Home convenience store when the patrol car entered the area. Smith then quickly exited his vehicle and entered the store from the rear.
A check with the Arkansas Crime Information Center revealed Smith’s driver’s license was suspended, and the license plate on the vehicle was fictitious.
Smith was arrested for driving on a suspended license. Two used syringes were located in his pants. A clear plastic bag with a crystalline substance was located in the watch pocket of his pants. The Mountain Home man allegedly told the officer the substance was methamphetamine.
A box in the driver side door of the car contained a smoking pipe with narcotic residue and multiple baggies.
Smith was charged with felony counts of possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia for use of ingestion of methamphetamine.
His bond was set at $2,975, and he is set to appear in Baxter County Circuit Court later this month.
