Credit: Jason Bihler PhotographyThe Rolling Stones‘ “Exhibitionism,” which opened last week at Nashville’s Musicians Hall of Fame & Museum, is a collection of hundreds of artifacts from the legendary band, but on Wednesday night an actual member of the group also was on display.
The Tennessean reports that Ronnie Wood paid a visit to the attraction to return one of his guitars, which he’d removed from the display to use in the studio.
According to the newspaper, Wood took the instrument, a custom Zemaitis electric guitar, out of its gig bag and placed it in its intended spot behind glass, while commenting, “We no longer have an empty space.”
The 70-year-old rocker also explained to the media in attendance that he’d played the guitar on The Rolling Stones’ latest album, the Grammy-winning 2016 blues-covers collection, Blue & Lonesome.
“It’s nice to be here, and I hope everyone enjoys the exhibition as much as I enjoyed having a look around,” Wood also said. “I’m gonna have another look now.”
Nashville is the last planned U.S. stop for “Exhibitionism,” which previously had runs in New York City, Chicago and Las Vegas. It will remain open at the Musicians Hall of Fame & Museum through June 30.
Wood took to Twitter on Wednesday to post a photo of a new sketch he drew of the Zemaitis guitar, and also revealed that he paid a visit to Brad Paisley while the country star was in a Nashville recording studio. Paisley teamed with Stones frontman Mick Jagger last year for a duet called “Drive of Shame.”
