An arson investigation is underway in Stone County following Sheriff Lance Bonds and investigators from his department responding to a structure fire Wednesday where they found a house fully engulfed and a nude man standing nearby.

Sheriff Bonds says after arriving at the home at 609 Sawmill Road in Mountain View, they observed a white male, later identified as 56-year-old Foy Densmore of Mountain View, nude and standing next to the house.

Bonds says Densmore was acting extremely “excited and giddy.” In an excited utterance, he is alleged to have said, “I burned it to the ground.”

Densmore was arrested and transported to the Stone County Detention Center for booking and holding.

During a post miranda interview, Densmore allegedly said he was upset because he had been asked to leave the residence, resulting in him setting fire to the residence. The Mountain View man has been charged with arson and was in custody awaiting a bond at the time of this report on Thursday.

Sheriff Bonds says the residence appears to be a total loss.
