
Several school districts across the Twin Lakes Area have been awarded funds they’ve qualified for under the Arkansas School Recognition Program through the Arkansas Department of Education. The program provides financial awards to the top ten percent of public schools that achieve high student academic growth, including high graduation rates for secondary schools.Schools in the top five percent of performance get $100 per student and the top six to ten percent receive $50 per student. Awards of $100 per student are also given to the top five percent for growth and $50 for the top six to ten percent.
The Norfork School District received a total of $11,156 (figures are rounded) for the top six to ten percent in performance at Arrie Goforth Elementary School.
In other schools across the listening area, Salem Elementary School received $41,943 for the top six to ten percent in performance . Salem Elementary School also received $41,943 for the top five percent in growth and graduation.
The Harrison School District received $15,513 for Eagle Heights Elementary school, $38,879 for Forest Heights Elementary School, $38,687 for Harrison Middle School and $33,420 was awarded to Skyline Heights Middle School for the top five percent of performance.
The Izard County Consolidated School District received funds of $13,981 for the top five percent in growth and graduation.
Marshall High School, in the Searcy County School District, received $18,721 for the top five percent in growth and graduation.
