The Mruk Family Education Center on Aging has been honored by AARP. Coordinator at the Mruk Family Education Center on Aging Diahanne VanGulick and AARP Driver Safety instructor Paul Mruk accepted a certificate of appreciation. The certificate was presented by Linda Murr, AARP District Coordinator, and notes the Mruk Center was recognized for its “steadfast support of AARP Driver Safety and for exemplifying community leadership of safe driving thereby making street and neighborhoods safer for all citizens.”

Since 2009, the Mruk Family Education Center on Aging has offered AARP Driver Safety, a course designed to help drivers aged 50 and older be safer on the road. Participants learn about the effects of aging on drivers and strategies for coping with these changes. Additionally, many insurance companies offer reductions for those completing the course. Classes are held the first Monday morning of each month from 9:00 until 1:00, and the fee is $15 for AARP members and $20 for non-members.

To register for the course, call 870-508-3880, email mfecoa@baxterregional.org , or choose a course date at www.baxterregional.org/events .
