Flippin City Council meets Tuesday, WWI celebration planned

The Flippin City Council will be meeting in regular session Tuesday evening at 6:00 in the administration building of the Flippin School District. Among the items on the meetings agenda, Flippin Mayor Jerald Marberry will announce an update regarding a planned World War I Memorial Centennial celebration.Marberry says the event will take place on the morning of April 27th at 10:00 at Hickey City Park. A willow tree will be planted to commemorate the service of World War I veterans. The Arkansas Forestry Department will deliver the tree to the ceremony, which takes place during the same day as National Arbor Day.

Other item’s on the meetings agenda include an update regarding The Purple Heart Proclamation set for the morning of July 3rd at 11:00, two amended ordinances, an ordinance to transfer funds from a FEMA project and the presentation of the water audit.
