A search for a Midway man Friday at a local hotel has led to the arrest of 22-year-old Steven Burton Ashworth and the arrest of two others on drug charges. Ashworth was booked on the outstanding warrant charge and a hold for other agencies. He was released Monday morning.

Also arrested on drug charges, were 55-year-old Scott O. Donaldson and 30-year-old Amy Renay Pruitt. The pair remain in the custody of the Baxter County Detention Center on a $2,500 bond.

According to Mountain Home Police Chief Carry Manuel, Mountain Home Police Officers had information Ashworth was staying in a local hotel with Donaldson. Officers made contact with Ashworth and he initially tried to give a false name. He eventually gave his real name, a short time later, and was taken into custody.

According to the arrest affidavit, there were four other people in the room, two with search waivers on file. A glass pipe with suspected methamphetamine residue was in plain view and approximately one gram of suspected methamphetamine was in a dresser drawer.

In the bathroom another glass pipe was found next to a purse. Pruitt was the only woman in the room so officers asked her if she had anything else illegal. She allegedly pulled a plastic bag out of her pants containing .6 grams of suspected methamphetamine.

Both of the confiscated baggies of methamphetamine field tested positive.

Donaldson and Pruitt were charged with felony possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.

They are scheduled to appear in Baxter County Circuit Court.
