Harry Herd/Redferns; Mary Ellen MatthewsSimple Minds frontman Jim Kerr is the latest guest star to join Arcade Fire for a special performance during the Canadian alt-rock act’s current European tour.
Kerr was invited onstage during Arcade Fire’s show in his hometown of Glasgow, Scotland, to perform his band’s signature hit, “Don’t You (Forget About Me).” Footage from the collaboration was posted on Arcade Fire’s Twitter feed.
Along with Kerr, several other well-known veteran singers have taken the stage with Arcade Fire during the group’s trek, including Boy George and, coincidentally, Kerr’s ex-wife Chrissie Hynde of The Pretenders, who both showed up during the band’s three-show run in London.
Simple Minds recently released a new studio album titled Between Two Worlds, and will launch a European tour in May in support of the record.
