Drug charges for rural MH man after traffic stop

A rural Mountain Home man, 52-year-old Christopher Alfred Knapp, was arrested Tuesday morning on drug and traffic charges after being pulled over by Baxter County Sheriff’s Corporal Kristofer Savino for an equipment violation.

Knapp was released from the Baxter County Detention Center after posting a $5,000 bond.

According to Baxter County Sheriff John Montgomery, Corporal Savino stopped Knapp on Baxter County Road 69, at the intersection of Yorkshire Lane, at approximately 11:49 Tuesday morning.

Knapp was found to have a suspended driver license and was taken into custody. A subsequent search of him and his vehicle uncovered drugs and drug paraphernalia, including methamphetamine, marijuana, a syringe, scales, and other articles.

Knapp faces felony charges of possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, with purpose to deliver and felony possession of drug paraphernalia.

He also faces numerous misdemeanor charges.

Knapp is scheduled to appear in Baxter County Circuit Court.
