The Mruk Family Education Center on Aging received a $1,000 donation in April from the Knights of Columbus of Mountain Home. District Deputy Tim Malloy and Grand Knight Bob Anderson presented the donation to Paul Mruk and Diahnne Van Gulick of the Mruk Center.

According to VanGulick, generosity and support from local community organizations like the Knights of Columbus help keep the services and programs of the center from being cost prohibitive.

The community is invited to support the Mruk Family Education Center on Aging by attending the center’s 5th annual fundraiser, “Hangin’ Out in the Hangar.” The event will take place on Saturday evening, May 19th, at Baxter County Fairgrounds. Entertainment will feature live bluegrass music with Crooked Creek, live and silent auctions, and a cake walk. Food will also be available, including smoked brisket.

The cost to attend is $30 per person or $50 per couple. Tickets can be purchased online at www.baxterregional.org/events or in person at the Mruk Center, Anstaff Bank, or the Mountain Home Chamber of Commerce.

For more information about the fundraiser or any of the resources available at Mruk Family Education Center on Aging, contact Diahanne VanGulick at 870-508-3880, by email at evangulick@baxterregional.org, or by stopping by the Mruk Center, located across Hospital Drive from the Main Entrance of the Baxter Regional Medical Center, Monday through Friday morning from 9:00 until 4:00.
