Officers with the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office and Arkansas Community Correction seized a sizeable amount of methamphetamine during a probation compliance visit Wednesday. According to the arrest affidavit, the officers went to the home of Joshua James Langston, at Clements Drive in rural Mountain Home, where the drugs were found. He is being held in the Baxter County Detention Center on a $10,660 bond.A search of the residence was conducted where officers found Langston in a room downstairs. Officers found approximately 9.6 grams of methamphetamine; multiple sets of digital scales, containing suspected methamphetamine residue; numerous small plastic baggies, similar to those commonly used to dispense methamphetamine; at least one loaded syringe, containing a clear liquid substance; multiple glass smoking devices and approximately $600 in cash thrown loosely in a backpack.

Langston allegedly admitted he was a parole absconder from a previous methamphetamine delivery charge. A review of his criminal history revealed a lengthy record.

He faces felony charges of two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of methamphetamine or cocaine with the purpose to deliver.

Langston is also charged with being a habitual offender and a parole violation.

He is scheduled to appear in Baxter County Circuit Court.
