Courtesy AXS TVThe latest installment of AXS TV’s Rock & Roll Road Trip With Sammy Hagar features the singer sitting down with Foreigner frontman Mick Jones. The two discuss Jones’ long and memorable career, but the high point for fans of both artists is likely to be their bare bones tear-down of the Foreigner classic “Dirty White Boy.”

Their version of the song — which Sammy says is “probably [his] favorite Foreigner tune” — features Jones on loud, distorted guitar, and Hagar singing and slapping his hip for percussion.

Hagar tells Jones he was jealous when Foreigner dropped the track, because, he says, “I was almost competition with you at this point and I thought, ‘Yeah, they hit it on this one.'” Jones and Hagar agree that Sammy is, in fact, pretty much a “dirty white boy,” before laughing and kicking into the song.

You can catch the performance and the full interview on this Sunday’s episode of Rock & Roll Road Trip With Sammy Hagar, airing at 9 p.m. ET on AXS TV.
