No injuries were reported in a two-vehicle collision Wednesday morning when a Norfork School District bus with 12 students on board was struck in the side.

A report from the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office indicates a vehicle driven by 70-year-old Ethel Brinkman of Norfork was pulling from her driveway onto Sheid Road and struck the school bus.

Bus driver Deanna Klaus of Jordan reported she was traveling west on Sheid Road when she observed Brinkman’s vehicle coming out of the driveway and was unsure if it was going to stop. She began slowing the bus and easing it into the left lane when she felt and heard the impact of the vehicle striking hers. Klaus said she immediately pulled the bus over and checked to ensure the students were ok.

Brinkman’s vehicle was towed from the scene, with damage to the bus estimated at $10,000.

Brinkman was cited for failure to yield in the 7:33 a.m. accident.

The report notes the road was dry and the conditions were clear at the time of the accident.
