TMZ reports that Tyler had been walking his way down Bourbon Street when a patron at the Famous Door bar told the band that the rock legend was nearby.  The guitarist ran out and invited the Rock & Roll Hall of Famer to join the group onstage, and as a fan-filmed video clip shows, they proceeded to rock out on Aerosmith’s classic tune, thrilling both the crowd and the musicians.

Aerosmith’s appearance at the New Orleans JazzFest is the band’s only confirmed upcoming show this year, although Tyler has a tour lined up with his solo group, The Loving Mary Band, that kicks off June 12 in Lewiston, New York.

Meanwhile, as previously reported, Tyler will be in Nashville next Thursday for the premiere of his new documentary, Steven Tyler: Out on a Limb, which will be screened during opening night of the Nashville Film Festival. In conjunction with the premiere, Nashville Mayor David Briley will proclaim May 10 “Steven Tyler Day” in the city.

Also during the film fest, Tyler and The Loving Mary Band will play a May 12 concert at The Woods at Fontanel in Nashville.
