Salem had mixed results Thursday as their baseball and softball teams began action in the Class 2A North Regional Tournament at East Poinsett County High School in Lepanto.
The Lady Greyhounds advanced to the softball semifinals and secured a state tournament bid. Salem edged out Hazen by a final of 3-2.
Salem did not fare as well in the baseball tournament. The Greyhounds watched their season come to an end as they the fell to Palestine-Wheatley 10-2.
