A Stone County man, 38-year-old Justin Guy of Alco, has been arrested and charged following a one-vehicle roll-over accident and a struggle with deputies over a shotgun taken from a patrol car.

Stone County Sheriff Lance Bonds says the incident occurred Tuesday along Big Springs Road.

A Stone County deputy arrived on the scene and found a man, later identified as Guy, standing over an individual who appeared to be the victim of the accident. First responders told the deputy Guy was attempting to get the injured person up. During the process of first responders helping the injured subject on the ground, Guy pushed on the two who are both over 60 years old.

The deputy was familiar with Guy from a previous incident in Stone County in March. From that incident, the deputy knew Guy was a felon. The deputy was able to get Guy moved away, and he stated he was the driver of the wrecked vehicle. He continued by saying he was going to get a DWI.

The deputy attempted to place Guy under arrest, as he began to make threats to the first responders and the deputy. Guy allegedly made threats and continued resisting. Additional deputies arrived on scene, and Guy was placed in the back of a patrol vehicle.

Guy, still resisting arrest, kicked the glass out of the passenger side rear window of the vehicle. He then crawled over the back seat and grabbed a shotgun. Deputies responded by pulling their duty weapons and wrestling the weapon from Guy.

Deputies were able get him back in the rear seat. He continued making threats and exhibited behavior consistent with being under the influence of narcotics. Guy stated he had enough guns at his house to kill all of the deputies. He singled out two deputies with his threats, saying he would kill them, their entire families and there is nowhere to hide.

Following Guy being transported to jail, a search warrant was executed on his residence where a firearm and ammunition were recovered. Guy’s behavior in his cell was destructive. He flooded his cell, damaged the fire sprinkler and continuously hit the walls, door and ceiling with his feet and fist.

Wednesday, he was formally charged with aggravated assault; second-degree battery; terroristic threatening; obstruction or interference with emergency medical personnel or first responder; possession of firearms by certain persons, meaning he is a felon; and refusal to submit to a chemical test. He was also charged as a habitual offender and resisting arrest\refusal to submit to arrest.

The amount of his bond was not provided.
