A Marion County man, 54-year-old Jeffrey Colling of Yellville, made his first appearance in Marion County Circuit Court last week following a domestic dispute in early May that sent both him and his wife to the county jail.

According to the probable cause affidavit, Marion County deputies were dispatched to a residence along State Highway 14 South to an active physical domestic dispute. Upon arrival, they spotted a female, 49-year-old Celine Colling, sitting in the middle of the driveway of the residence, bleeding from the right side of her head.

Celine Colling told officers her husband had struck her in the head with a flashlight. She also told them her husband had been attempting to steal money and property from her.

Medical attention was required for Celine Colling, and Jeffrey Colling was handcuffed and questioned about the dispute. He told officers the couple’s argument had turned violent, and he was struck several times before hitting his wife with the flashlight.

Officers later questioned the couple’s two children who had witnessed the confrontation.

Celine Colling was transported to Baxter Regional Medical Center for treatment of the injuries she sustained in the altercation. Jeffrey Colling was transported to the Marion County Detention Center. He was charged with a felony count of aggravated assault on a family or household member, as well as two misdemeanor counts of endangering the welfare of a minor. His bond was set at $20,000.

Celine Colling was charged with third degree domestic battery. The amount of her bond was not provided.
