A Mountain Home man was transported to Baxter Regional Medical Center and the Baxter County Detention Center following a Moped accident. According to the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office, 37-year-old Eric Goettler was arrested early Friday morning on charges of driving while intoxicated (second offense) and careless driving, and he was released a half hour later on $1,655 bond.

According to the report, Goettler was traveling northbound on County Road 11 Thursday night when he failed to negotiate a right-hand turn. When a deputy arrived on the scene, Goettler’s son was reportedly pushing the Moped northbound near the 800 block of the road. Goettler had blood running down his head, arms and legs due to injury.

Goettler told the deputy his wreck was caused by a deer running in front of him. He was transported to the hospital for treatment, and following his release, he was sent to the detention center.

Goettler is scheduled to appear in Baxter County Circuit Court this month.
