
An integrated resource project called Big Creek is being considered by Mark Twain National Forest officials northwest of Theodosia.
KOLR TV reports the project area is in a section designated in the 2005 Mark Twain National Forests Forest Plan for natural restoration. The project area encompasses 36,875 acres in Ozark and Taney counties, approximately 5 miles northwest of Theodosia and 13 miles southwest of Ava.
A meeting will be held June 22 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Ava Lions Club. A field tour starting at the Caney Picnic area will be offered starting at 9:00 a.m. June 23.
