Arvest campaign provides more than 2 million meals

Arvest Bank launched its annual 1 Million Meals initiative to fight hunger in the four-state region the bank serves two months ago. With the help of customers and community members, it has exceeded the campaign goal by raising a record total of 2,114,630 meals in the fight against hunger.

This year’s campaign total meals were made possible through donations from the bank, Arvest associates, customers and community members through fundraisers, events and nonperishable food drives in all Arvest branches throughout April and May.

Several communities in Baxter and Marion counties collected donations for the Food Bank of North Central Arkansas and other hunger relief organizations throughout the counties. Participating communities included Mountain Home, Yellville, Flippin, Bull Shoals and Lead Hill.

Additionally, students in the Yellville-Summit School District held a change drive, raising $4,350 for their schools’ backpack program and more than $700 for the Flippin School District through the Feed the Pack campaign.

All money and food items raised through this campaign directly benefited 75-plus organizations feeding local communities in Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri and Oklahoma.
