A call reporting a man chasing a woman at a Bull Shoals location brandishing a firearm while threatening to shoot, followed by gunfire, has led to an arrest.
According to the probable cause affidavit filed Wednesday morning, officers from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office and the Flippin Police Department responded to the call in the early morning hours last Thursday. They found 42-year-old Daniel Elliott of Flippin in a tent. Elliott provided the officers with a false last name, but later admitted his true identity.
Elliott had active misdemeanor warrants from both Marion County and the Flippin Police Department. He was also found to be on active supervision with the Department of Community Correction’s probation division, with an active search waiver on file.
Elliott allegedly admitted a needle used for taking methamphetamine intravenously was inside the tent under a rug, and he had already used it.
A female subject was also in the tent, saying she was visiting Elliott, but they had not had a disagreement. She was found to be in possession of several Xanax pills.
A search of the tent did not reveal a firearm. However, two glass pipes with residue were found in the sleeping area of the tent, along with other items of drug paraphernalia.
Elliott was arrested and has been charged with three felony counts of possession of drug paraphernalia.
His bond was set at $5,000. Elliott appeared in Marion County Circuit Court Wednesday morning and entered a plea of not guilty.
