A three-vehicle accident Tuesday morning at the intersection of the Sheid-Hopper Bypass and Charles Blackburn Drive sent two drivers and a passenger to Baxter Regional Medical Center.
According to the Mountain Home Police Department report, the accident occurred as 58-year-old Deborah Hill of Mountain Home was traveling west on the bypass. The second vehicle driven by 82-year-old Gertrude Hammond of Mountain Home was traveling north on Charles Blackburn Drive and reportedly ran the red traffic signal at the intersection.
Hill’s vehicle, unable to stop, then struck Hammond’s vehicle in the passenger side. The impact sent the Hammond vehicle across the median where it struck the third vehicle in the accident driven by 85-year-old Raymond Hood of Mountain Home.
Hood’s vehicle was eastbound in the left turn lane at the intersection when it was struck.
Hill, a passenger in her vehicle, 61-year-old Daniel Hill, and Hammond were all transported by ambulance to Baxter Regional Medical Center for treatment of possible injuries. Their vehicles were towed from the scene of the 11:25 a.m. accident.
