Two people were taken into custody Wednesday after an unrelated investigation led officers to a Midway residence.
According to the probable cause affidavit, officers from the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office, the Mountain Home Police Department and the Arkansas Department of Community Corrections arrived at a residence where movement could be heard coming from inside. Upon arrival, the door of the residence was slightly ajar, but closed and locked when officers announced their presence.
For approximately 45 minutes, officers questioned neighbors to determine who was inside the residence. The investigation revealed 25-year-old Ryan Kinsley and 31-year-old Heather McDaniel were inside the residence. Deputy Benny Magness began dialogue through the door, and it was confirmed Kinsley and McDaniel were inside the residence.
A short time later McDaniel came out of the residence to speak to officers; however, Kinsley remained inside the residence. Further investigation revealed Kinsley had failed to appear for court earlier the same day, and a felony no bond revocation warrant had been issued for his previous three arrests for which he was out on bond. Upon confirming this information, officers made entry into the residence and took Kinsley into custody.
It was also confirmed McDaniel was a probationer and had a warrantless search waiver on file. A search of a bedroom containing both McDaniel’s and Kinsleys belongings revealed a metal safe producing a strong odor of marijuana and a set of digital scales containing suspected methamphetamine residue.
McDaniel faces new felony charges of possession of drug paraphernalia used for delivery and hindering apprehension or prosecution. Bond on the charges was set at $3,500.
