
The 19th Annual Red, White, and Blue Festival in Mountain Home is this weekend and is scheduled to be bigger than ever. This year’s event will take place Friday and Saturday on the Arkansas State University-Mountain Home campus, kicking off with a parade at 5:30 Friday evening on the Mountain Home square. Founder of the event Pat Ballard says he expects a large turnout this year.

Ballard says the culminating event, the fireworks display at 9:30 Saturday evening, has expanded and will be a event that shouldn’t be missed.

Ballard recommends bringing a lawn chair or blanket to watch the fireworks.
In an effort to raise money to keep the event going and growing, donations will be accepted both Friday and Saturday. Additionally, Carter’s Jewel Chest will be selling tickets to win a pendant, valued at $2,900, with all proceeds going to the festival fund. The drawing for the pendant will be at 9:00 Saturday evening.
Music choreographed to the fireworks will be broadcast live on Classic Hits 101.7 and streaming online at www.ktlo.com.
