A Louisiana man, 41-year-old Kennedy Manuel, was arrested Saturday at a Cotter liquor store and charged with driving while intoxicated, drinking on the highway, and two drug possession charges, as well as leaving the scene with property damage and careless driving.
According to a Baxter County Sheriff’s Office report, the arrest followed Manuel reportedly traveling north in his vehicle on Denton Ferry Road. The report notes he attempted to turn onto Rainbow Heights Drive and struck two mailboxes. He then came back onto the roadway, continued west on Rainbow Heights before leaving the roadway on the north side and striking a third mailbox.
A sheriff’s deputy located Manuel at a liquor store in Cotter where he was taken into custody. His bond on the six citations was set at $2,545.
