A Marion County man, 48-year-old Gary Requa of Summit, remains in the Marion County Detention Center after his request for a reduction of his $50,000 bond was denied by Circuit Judge Gordon Webb.

Requa’s request for a bond reduction followed him entering a plea of not guilty last Wednesday to multiple felony charges including two counts of simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms; delivery of methamphetamine; criminal conspiracy; two counts of possession of firearms by certain persons; three counts of unlawful use of a communication device; possession of a defaced firearm; possession of a schedule IV controlled substance with intent to deliver; possession of a schedule II controlled substance; possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine; two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia. He also has several misdemeanor charges including eight counts of possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a schedule IV controlled substance.

Requa was one of five people arrested earlier this month when a search warrant was executed at a house in Summit. During a search of the house owned by Requa, officers seized methamphetamine, Schedule II and Schedule IV narcotics, marijuana, numerous drug paraphernalia, multiple firearms and ammunition.

At the time of the arrests, Marion County Sheriff Clinton Evans said the search warrant was obtained after an in-depth narcotics investigation by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, the 14th Judicial District Task Force and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
