Several area fireworks planned

Independence Day celebrations and fireworks displays are planned all across the Twin Lakes Area, beginning at 9:30 Saturday evening with the Red, White, and Blue Festival fireworks show at Arkansas State University-Mountain Home. Music choreographed to the fireworks will be broadcast live on Classic Hits 101.7.

Starting at dark, the City of Theodosia fireworks will take place Saturday at the Theodosia Marina-Resort.

Tuesday, Independence Eve, the annual Lake Norfork Fireworks Association display will be held over Lake Norfork beginning at dark. Fireworks will be shot between the bridges on the lake and can easily be viewed from boat, car or on lake campsites. Music for the show can be heard by tuning into 99.7 The Boot.

Flippin’s annual fireworks show, presented by the Flippin Fire Department, will be held Tuesday at Hickey Park beginning at dusk. Prior to the fireworks, there will be various activities taking place at the park.

Calico Rock will hold its annual fireworks show, put on by the Calico Rock Lions Club. The display begins around 9:00 and will take place at the Earl King Memorial Park.

The town of Fifty-Six will also hold a fireworks display on Tuesday evening at Fifty-Six City Park. Prior to the fireworks, hot dogs and burgers will be served starting at 6:00.

The Pontiac display will be held Tuesday at dusk over Bull Shoals Lake at the Pontiac Cove Marina and Campground.

The annual John G. Eastwold Memorial Fireworks Show, sponsored by Bull Shoals Lake Boat Dock, will begin at dark on July 4th. The fireworks may be viewed from the lake or at the parks and campsites near the dam.

Other fireworks on the evening of the Fourth include the Mountain View city fireworks at 9:00 at the Stone County Fairgrounds and the Salem Chamber of Commerce Fireworks in the Park beginning at dark at the Salem City Park. In addition to fireworks, the City of Salem will also have barbecue and a parade.

The city of Harrison will also host a fireworks display at the Anstaff Soccer Complex, located at 202 Old Stonewall Road. There will be various activities beginning at 5:00 in the evening, prior to the fireworks, which will begin around 9:00. Parking will be available in the parking lot of the old junior high.
