
Baseball makes up the local Friday schedule as a few local teams will begin tournament play.
The Mountain Home Lockeroom American Legion baseball team will be in Missouri for the Charleston Fighting Squirrels #GoNuts Classic. Friday’s game has been moved due to a large amount of rain that has fallen in the Charleston area this week. The Lockeroom will take on Kennett at 8:00 tonight at Sikeston.
State tournament play gets underway for Cal Ripken baseball, and Mountain Home will be the host city for the North Arkansas Ten-Year-Old State Tournament. Games will be played on three different fields at Clysta Willett Park as pool play gets underway.
Action begins at noon as Bentonville faces Delta, the Batesville Bullets take on Northeast Arkansas, and Harrison will be paired with the Batesville Bandits.
At 1:45, Madison County play Blytheville, Pocahontas meets Brookland, and the Batesville Bullets face Jonesboro.
Mountain Home will take the field for one of the 3:30 games. The Sharks are set to take on Pocahontas. At the other two fields, the Batesville Bandits play Bentonville, and Harrison will be matched up with Delta.
Two games will be played at 5:15. Blytheville meets Rogers, and Madison County faces Northeast Arkansas.
Mountain Home will take the field one more time Friday as their game will be one of two played at 7:00. The Sharks are slated to take on Jonesboro, and Rogers plays Brookland.
The Mountain Home 12-year-old Cal Ripken baseball team will be in Rogers as they begin the North Arkansas State Tournament with two games of pool play. Mountain Home meets Bentonville at 2:00 and Rogers at 6:00.
Mountain Home will also have an eight-year-old Cal Ripken team playing in the North Arkansas State Tournament at Harrison. The Naturals begin with pool play as they play back-to-back games starting at 5:00.
