The Food Bank of North Central Arkansas has received the final installment of a four-year and cumulative donation from the Arvest Foundation in the amount of $50,000 toward its “Bridging Hunger, Building Hope” comprehensive campaign.

The initiative is a $1.4 million campaign to fund construction of a new warehouse and processing facility for the food bank that distributes approximately three million pounds of food throughout its nine-county service area of Baxter, Boon, Fulton, Izard, Marion, Newton, Searcy, Sharp and Stone counties.

Relocating the food bank’s storage facility from Norfork to Mountain Home also creates efficiencies and reduces costs because the warehouse will be more centrally located.

The food bank collects, catalogs, stores and distributes food and grocery items to various hunger relief organizations, including summer and after-school meal programs for children.
