The Arkansas Department of Transportation (ArDOT) will hold three public involvement meetings to discuss the planning study on improving the U.S. Highway 412 corridor between the Oklahoma and the Missouri state lines. One of the three meetings will be held in Yellville, with the other two in Ash Flat and Huntsville. Each meeting will be identical in content.

The Marion County meeting will be held Tuesday from 4:00 until 7:00 at the Yellville First Baptist Church fellowship hall located at 104 West Third Street.

Gilbert Losurdo, Managing Director of the North Arkansas East West Corridor Association, says a strong attendance at the meetings will demonstrate the need for the highway improvements.

Mountain Home Mayor Joe Dillard echoes Losurdo’s comments saying if highway funding becomes available for projects like the 412 corridor, it’s vital all necessary planning having been completed, allowing for improvements to move forward.

The public is invited to visit any time during the scheduled hours to view displays, ask questions and offer comments. The meetings will follow an open house format.
