The Stars Align Tour, a new North American trek featuring Jeff Beck, Heart frontwoman Ann Wilson and Free/Bad Company singer Paul Rodgers, gets underway Wednesday with a show in West Valley City, Utah.

Beck, the trek’s headliner, says he thinks fans who attend the shows will treated to a fantastic night of music.

“I’m looking forward to people’s reaction, because look at [the bill],” the U.K. guitar great told ABC Radio at a recent Live Nation promotional event. “I don’t sing, so I’m just an observer, but I think this will radiate some excitement.”

Wilson was in attendance at the same Live Nation event and told ABC Radio that for her part, she’ll definitely perform some cover tunes from her upcoming solo album, Immortal, out September 14, a tribute to artists she admires who have died during the last few years.

“I’m gonna get in as many as I can, ’cause I don’t have all night,” noted Wilson, who will hit the stage before Rodgers and Beck. “[I]t’ll be a short but power-packed set, in the bright daylight.”

Ann added that she’ll perform only a select number of Heart songs.

“I’ve brought the ones forward that I think stood the test of time, the ones I’m the most proud of having written, really,” she said.

As for whether some onstage collaborations between the three artists on the trek will take place, Beck said there aren’t definitive plans, but it’s a possibility.

“It was understood that we’re not forming a super-band,” he told ABC Radio. “Whatever happens after that then, who knows?  But we do have three separate shows.”
