Simon & SchusterA new illustrated children’s book based on the classic 1967 Beatles song “All You Need Is Love,” co-written by John Lennon and Paul McCartney, will be published in January of 2019.

The book will feature Lennon and McCartney’s lyrics accompanied by art created by bestselling illustrator Marc Rosenthal that will reflect the song’s theme of the positive power of love.

“This timeless song rings true now more than ever,” says Valerie Garfield, vice president of the Little Simon publishing imprint. “We feel there is always a market for books about hope, and John Lennon and Paul McCartney have written songs that resonate with parents and children who want to look at the world with hope and love.”

“All You Need Is Love” was released in July 1967 and topped the Billboard Hot 100 the following month. The Fab Four famously performed the tune live in June of that year on a TV special called Our World that was broadcast across the globe via satellite.

A second picture book inspired by a Beatles tune penned by Lennon and McCartney is expected to be released at a later date.

In 2014, an illustrated children’s book based on Ringo Starr‘s famous Beatles song “Octopus’s Garden” was published by Little Simon’s parent company, Simon & Schuster.
