The Mountain Home 14-year-olds were able to avoid elimination Saturday morning in the Babe Ruth Southwest Regional Tournament at Arkadelphia. It was North Arkansas state champion vs. South Arkansas state champion with the Blue Storm coming out on top 11-4 over Lonoke.
Jackson Jones picked up the win as he pitched 4 2/3 innings, struck out three batters and gave up three hits, seven walks and three earned runs. Jones also produced plenty of offense for Mountain Home with two hits, two runs and two RBIs. In addition, Dodge Harris provided two hits, scored a run and drove in two more; Reed Ellison had two hits and three runs; and Zane Crites finished with two hits, a run and an RBI.
The Blue Storm will compete in another elimination game Saturday evening at 7:00.
