JOPLIN, Mo. (AP) _ Authorities have ended their search for a Joplin homicide
suspect after finding the suspect’s vehicle ablaze alongside a road.
Joplin police said on their Facebook page that the search for the suspect began
when officers discovered a man dead Monday night while responding to a report of
an assault. The post says the vehicle the suspect was believed to be
driving was later discovered on fire along a Jasper County road.
The release says the suspect from the Joplin homicide investigation is “no
longer a threat” and investigators aren’t seeking any other suspects at
this time. No other details were immediately released.
