Jeff Spicer/Getty ImagesAfter teasing the project on Twitter earlier this month, Cher recently confirmed that she’s recorded an entire album of songs by ABBA. Now she’s posted a partial track listing for the record, which she’s pretty pleased with.
“ALMOST FINISHED WITH ALBUM, THINK ITS GOOD & (as we all know) I’M NOT A BIG CHER FAN,” the legendary entertainer tweeted.
She then tweeted out a list of nine songs that will appear on the album, which are as follows: “Waterloo,” “Gimme Gimme Gimme,” “Dancing Queen,” “Chiquitita,” “Name of the Game,” “Mamma Mia,” “One of Us,” “Winner Takes It All” and “S.O.S.” For the 10th song, Cher just put an exclamation point and a question mark.
“There Are Amazing Songs I Didn’t Do, But…HEY,” she added.
Surprisingly, “Fernando,” the song she did for the soundtrack of the new movie Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, wasn’t mentioned as being part of the album’s track list. In a recently interview on the Today show, Cher explained that she was inspired to record the ABBA covers album while working on the film, which, of course, features its cast performing a variety tunes by the famous Swedish pop group.
There’s no confirmed release date for the album, but Cher wrote earlier this month, “Think album will be out in sept.” Her most recent studio effort, Closer to the Truth, came out in 2013.
Cher plays Ruby, the mother of Meryl Streep‘s character, in Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, in theaters now.
