Aerosmith‘s only concert of 2018 took place in May at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, but the rock legends have announced that they’ll be performing live on NBC’s Today show on August 15 as part of the program’s summer concert series. The band will be playing in New York City’s Rockefeller Plaza.
If you want to check out the free performance you’re encouraged to arrive at the site by 5 a.m. ET. Check back at Today.com to find out how you can get special passes. No word yet on whether Aerosmith is planning to make any special announcements in conjunction with the appearance.
Frontman Steven Tyler currently is touring Europe with his solo group, The Loving Mary Band. That trek winds down with an August 7 show in London.
In other news, Tyler recently revealed during an episode of comedian Joe Rogan‘s Joe Rogan Experience podcast that he’s recorded a cover of the Rolling Stones classic “Brown Sugar” with Extreme guitarist Nuno Bettencourt at the historic FAME Studios in Muscle Shoals, Alabama. Tyler didn’t reveal for what project he recorded the track or when it might be released, but he did note, “We got all the players from way back then, the horn sections, got girls to sing it.”
