Five independent candidates filed in Baxter County Wednesday for council positions as of just before 4:00 p.m. The five are seeking municipal-level offices during the November general election.Incumbent Don Webb filed for the Mountain Home City Council, along with John Bell in Cotter, Carl Hill and William Svehla in Lakeview, and Thomas Bensman in Salesville.
Marion County and Circuit Clerk Dawn Moffet reports there were no additional filings on Wednesday.
The filing period closes at noon on Friday, August 17th.
