POCAHONTAS, Ark. (AP) _ Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty for an Arkansas man charged with killing his grandparents.

KAIT-TV reports Third Judicial District Prosecuting Attorney Henry Boyce on Tuesday formally charged 25-year-old Nicholaus David Patterson with two counts of capital murder.

Defense attorney Chris Nebben entered Patterson’s not guilty plea in Randolph County Circuit Court on Tuesday.

Authorities allege Patterson killed Ricky Bozwell and Rita Bozwell on July 10 at their Pocahontas home. Boyce says authorities discovered the bodies on July 14th after Patterson’s mother reported her parents were missing.

Boyce says the state plans to seek the death penalty in the case.

Patterson’s trial is scheduled for November 2019. Patterson is being held in the Randolph County Detention Center without bond.
