PINE BLUFF, Ark. (AP) _ Prosecutors say they need more time to review evidence before deciding whether to file formal charges against two teenagers arrested in the abduction and killing of a 71-year-old Arkansas woman.
The Pine Bluff Commercial reports two Pine Bluff teens are being held as adults in connection with kidnapping, theft of property, capital murder and robbery following Elvia Fragstein’s death.
Fragstein’s body was found on July 11th in a wooded area in Jefferson County a few days after her husband reported her missing.
A judge on Wednesday agreed to schedule a September review hearing in both cases in order to give prosecutors more time to review evidence and consider their options.
Defense attorneys say they plan to file not guilty pleas regarding any formal charges.
The teens are being held without bond in the Faulkner County Detention Center.
