
Mountain Home Public Schools are kicking off the school year with student-led tours of K-7 school campuses on Tuesday evening from 5:00 until 7:00. A district-wide open house will be held Thursday from 1:00 until 7:00.
Mountain Home Superintendent Dr. Jake Long says he has high expectations for the upcoming school year.

Long says there are a number of new strategic plans and initiatives for the 2018-2019 school year, including a new program providing free breakfast for grades k-2. Additionally, Long says the district will have a renewed focus on literacy and reading.

In addition to technological upgrades, the district has made changes to its school safety.

There will also be some new faces within the district this year as a result of some major personnel changes. Those include Lindsey Blevins as Pinkston Middle School Principal, Kyle McCarn as Mountain Home Junior High School Principal, Ron Czanstkowski as Director of Student Services and Transportation and Lea Cotter as Business Manager for the district.
