A Gassville man, 35-year-old Richard Edward Fink, in the Marion County Detention Center for failure to appear, is facing new charges after a substance field testing positive for methamphetamine was found in his left shoe.According to the probable cause affidavit filed Monday, Fink was booked into the jail August 7th. The following morning, a sheriff’s deputy received information Fink had a baggie of methamphetamine, leading to a search of the Gassville man’s cell and all the inmates held there. However, no illegal drugs were found. A further search in the property shed led to the discovery of the illegal substance in Fink’s left shoe, between two black socks.Fink now faces felony counts of possession of methamphetamine and furnishing prohibited articles. His bond on the newest charges was set at $5,000.Earlier this year, Fink was in Baxter County Circuit Court in connection with a case long on accusations and short on facts involving two incidents of terroristic threatening. The Baxter County case remains open.

About the only thing clear in the case in March was Fink entering a plea of not guilty to both the charges against him.

The charges basically stem from alleged threats Fink is reported to have made to members of his girlfriend’s family. Fink referred to the woman as his “baby momma” during the court appearance. According to Fink, the girlfriend was pregnant at the time of his March court appearance.

Fink seemed to blame members of his girlfriend’s family for “stirring things up” by making the allegedly threatening post on social media. The one message included in the probable cause affidavit reads as follows: I KILLING UR FATHER AND TATE PLU TED SINCE COP DON’T WANNA HELP ME”. It is somewhat difficult to determine if it is a threat to human beings or an outright assault on the English language.

In another of the alleged posts, Fink is reported to have put a photo of himself with a handgun pointed to his temple.

The probable cause affidavits written by investigating officers, contains no information on the relationship of the two people allegedly threatened in the social media posts and the female Fink refers to as his “baby momma.” The affidavit does indicate there is a “history of animosity” between Fink and the two people allegedly being threatened.
