A race has developed for the position of mayor of Cotter, with the filing period for municipal-level candidates closing at noon on Friday.Friday morning, both McGeorge “Mac” Caradine and Roland Morris filed for the seat now held by Peggy Hammack. Caradine had previously filed for a council position at Cotter.In addition, Wayne Alexander amended his filing for the Cotter City Council from the Ward 3, Position 2 seat to the Ward 3, Position 1 seat. Richard Gipson has also filed for the Ward 3, Position 1 seat.
