Big Creek Golf and Country Club’s top qualifier for the U.S. Amateur wrapped up his run in the big USGA event, but not before advancing to the round of 16. Arkansas Razorback Mason Overstreet of Kingfisher, Oklahoma, began the day Thursday by defeating Jackson Van Paris of Pinehurst, North Carolina, 3 and 2. Overstreet returned to the course at Pebble Beach Resorts later that day to face University of Alabama golfer Davis Riley of Hattiesburg, Mississippi. The pair went to 21 holes before Riley pulled off the win to advance to the quarterfinals.
