A Baxter County man, 36-year-old Lonnie Tolliver of Gassville, is being held in Marion County on felony charges of lottery fraud and possession of drug paraphernalia.
According to the first affidavit filed Wednesday, the Arkansas State Lottery Commission contacted the Flippin Police Department on July 31st regarding an attempt to redeem a stolen $2 scratch-off lottery ticket. The lottery commission investigator advised an entire roll of Super Triple 777 lottery tickets were stolen from a convenience store in Flippin between July 20th and July 24th. The attempt to redeem the stolen lottery ticket had occurred in Gassville on the evening of July 24th.
A review of surveillance footage at the Gassville convenience store led to Tolliver being identified as the alleged suspect. He was seen on the video leaving the store when the cashier was unable to give him the winnings for the ticket.
Tolliver was interviewed in the Marion County Detention Center, where he was being held on the felony drug charge. He allegedly did not deny having tried to cash the lottery ticket, saying multiple times he did not know nor could he remember where he obtained it.
Bond on the lottery charge was set at $2,500.
In the second affidavit, Flippin Police assisted probation and parole officers, along with a special response team from Mountain Home with a home visit on August 9th. Upon arrival at Tolliver’s residence, drug paraphernalia was observed on a dresser top in the front room, along with a trace amount of a white powdery residue.
Bond for the felony drug offense was set at $5,000.
