The trek, which originally was known as “Celebrating David Bowie” and is now called “A Bowie Celebration: The David Bowie Alumni Tour,” will kick off in Ventura, California, on September 26 and wrap up in Saratoga, California, on the 30th.
Tickets for the concerts are on sale now at ABowieCelebration.com.
Among the Bowie alumni taking part in the shows: keyboardist Mike Garson, guitarist Earl Slick, backing singer Bernard Fowler, bassist Carmine Rojas and bassist/guitarist Mark Plati. In addition, Joe Sumner, Sting‘s son, will be among the singers showcased at all of the concerts.
Each concert features performances of a variety of Bowie songs, including hits and deep cuts.
In addition, Westworld actress Evan Rachel Wood will be a guest singer at the San Diego concert. Wood previously performed at Bowie tribute shows held in Atlanta and Los Angeles earlier this year.
“This is a dream band with each member at the top of their game,” says Garson. “Add to that the world’s best fans singing and dancing along with us, and the power of David’s music stays alive with the same intent as when we played with him.”
Following the September dates, the “Bowie Celebration” trek will head to Europe in 2019 for a series of concerts kicking off January 9 in Dublin, Ireland, and running through a February 1 show in Zurich, Switzerland.
