A Pocahontas man, 56-year-old Charles A. Burtman, has died following a motorcycle accident Friday afternoon on Highway 9 in Izard County.
According to a report from the Arkansas State Police, Burtman was driving a motorcycle southbound on Highway 9 in Sylamore when he failed to negotiate a curve, running off the roadway, traveling over an embankment and coming to rest on Fowler Road.
The road was listed as dry and the weather clear at the time of the 12:30 p.m. accident.
