The Yellville City Council will meet in a special session Monday evening at 6:00 to discuss the Turkey Trot permit application.
The Turkey Trot festival will operate this year with the Mid-Marion County Rotary Club as its new sponsor. In early April, the Yellville Area Chamber of Commerce announced it would no longer sponsor the event. The chamber’s decision followed the festival gaining national attention last year as news organizations from coast to coast reported, what would eventually become, a controversial tradition of throwing turkeys from a low flying plane.
The Yellville City Council meeting will be held at Yellville City Hall.
